This must be the kick-off weekend for “Season” as the licensed out of town traffic has certainly picked up plus there is so much to do in and around the Sarasota area!
November 10 – 13, 2017: Come out and enjoy the 8th Annual Siesta Key Crystal Classic Master Sand Sculpting Competition. Master Sand Sculptors from across the U.S. will compete in paired teams for thousands in prize money. Live music and food and retail vendors in a “vendor village” setting are also a part of the festival. Friday: 10 a.m. – 9 p.m., Saturday: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m., Sunday: 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Various on line discount available with various ticket packages including reserved private parking. November 10 – 13, 2017: The 10th Annual Sarasota Chalk Festival takes place for its 4th year in Venice, Florida. The theme of the 2017 festival is: “EVANESCENT.” Hundreds of chalk artists will create artwork using the pavement of the Venice Airport Festival Grounds (610 Airport Avenue East, Venice, FL.) Last year over 500 national and international artists participated in the Sarasota Chalk Festival. The fest features street painting; 3D Pavement Art, Traditional Pavement Art as well as other events and attractions connected to the fest! Admission is from $5 – $25. November 10 – 12, 2017: The Sarasota Architectural Foundation presents Sarasota MOD Weekend. The fourth annual mid-century modern architecture festival celebrates the legacy of acclaimed Sarasota School architect Edward J. “Tim” Seibert, FAIA. November 11-12, 2017: 29th Annual St. Armand’s Art Festival: The St. Armand’s Circle Art Festival hosts 200 artists in town annually. The event offers art from a broad spectrum of mediums including sculpture, photography, glass, paintings, ceramics, jewelry, mixed media and more!
